Our April meeting featured Graham Sands from Amril talking about Credit Management

CASHFLOW IS THE KEY

In challenging times, healthy cashflow can make the crucial difference between surviving and going under.

SMEs particularly can suffer when clients and customers hold on to money as long as they can before settling invoices, leading to a vicious circle that can leave businesses teetering on the brink. “Cash is key in times likes these,” stated Graham Sands of credit management specialists Amril, addressing Business Builder Club members at our regular Pizza Express venue in East Street, Horsham. “Companies can find it difficult to get past first base when chasing payments and that’s when an appointed agent can bring benefits.”

Poor cashflow can lead to late payments on credit cards, rates and other vital outgoings, he added. “That can adversely affect your credit rating, although there are measures you can take to redress matters.”

Amril aim to assist businesses at both ends of the spectrum – chasing debts or handling creditors who are seeking payment. Litigation is “a last resort”, he believes. “Often, there is no

need to go to such lengths, when talking things through and setting up a payment plan can avoid this.”
